I’m proud to share this painting, which I created years ago after overcoming a creative challenge. Back then, I was working as a graphic designer. I was excited about the job and spent a lot of time learning and improving my graphic design skills. But over time, the work started consuming my creative energy. After working 8+ hours a day, the last thing I wanted to do was paint. Weeks went by where I just stared at my sketchbook, unable to do any sketches or even a simple painting. It was one of the most difficult moments in my journey as an artist. I even found myself looking at my old paintings and wondering where that version of me had gone. In the end, I realized that having a creative job and a creative calling at the same time isn’t always a good thing, one of them eventually suffers. I’m grateful for that chapter because it came when I needed it most, but I also realized it wasn’t meant for me. This painting marked a victory for me, taking the time to heal and finding my way back to painting.
